Solar energy ..Renewable source of energy.

As the time is proceeding further, the demands for energy are increasing. This is not only causing the depletion of energy sources but also increasing the threat for the future generations. So it is very importat to have a sustainable development by the means of renewable sources of energy like Solar Energy.

In India this solar energy can become a boon for us.As in India normally we have sun for all 12 months in the sky.In a rainy season also we can see sun for few hours daily.

India is a tropical country rich in sunlight, solar energy offers the most practical solution to overcoming growing energy demand. Solar power has enormous potential to meet rural electricity needs, and critical agricultural, educational and industrial needs. Whether used for powering a pocket calculator, a satellite, or home-solar electricity, also known as photovoltaic, it is the future of our energy needs.

Solar energy is the most readily available source of energy.  It is also the most important of the non-conventional sources of energy because it is non-polluting and, therefore, helps in lessening the greenhouse effect.
This energy is also used for: Cooking/Heating, Drying/Timber seasoning, Distillation, Electricity/Power generation, Cooling, Refrigeration, Cold storage.

Solar panels give off no pollution, the only pollution produced as a result of solar panels is the manufacturing of these devices in factories, transportation of the goods, and installation.

  •     Pros of solar energy :
  • The production of energy from the use of fossil and some renewable fuels (e.g. wind turbines) can be noisy, yet solar energy produces electricity very quietly.
  • One of the great pros of solar energy is the ability to harness electricity in remote locations that are not linked to a national grid. A prime example of this is in space, where satellites are powered by high efficiency solar cells.
  • The installation of solar panels in remote locations is usually much more cost effective than laying the required high voltage wires.
  • Solar panels can be installed on top of many rooftops, which eliminates the problem of finding the required space for solar panel placement.
  • Another great pro of solar energy is the cost. Although the initial investment of solar cells may be high, once installed, they provide a free source of electricity, which will pay off over the coming years.
  • The use of solar energy to produce electricity allows the user to become less dependent on the worlds fossil fuel supplies.
·                       More ever solar energy is freely available, good for environment. Solar energy panels, roof titles are easy to repair, they are reliable they can be used for more than 20 years.

  • By the power of the sun
In remote areas where utility lines are not available, solar energy can produce home electricity without the cost of extending power lines, and with no monthly power bill. The benefit one receives from that energy depends on careful selection of lights and appliances that use about one-fourth as much power, and on individual conservation habits.

Solar energy has many potential uses in agriculture but water pumping is one of the most efficient. Many farmers now use low capacity water pumps for crop irrigation, and there are many prime grazing properties that now have reliable water by using  solar-powered systems.

Nano solar : Solar Power at lower cost

Now Nanosolar claims to be able to produce electricity at 5-6 cents/kilowatt hour almost as cheap as power from coal and at about one-third the cost of other solar power.  Nanosolar claims mass production of solar power will now become feasible with their differently manufactured solar panels.
