The importance of sunlight

        The importance of sunlight for body has been well known for a long time. Param Poojya Aniruddha Bapu also described the importance of Sunlight in Ramrajya discourse .
He said, " Expose yourself to sunlight for a minimum of half an hour per day.In case that is not possible, think about how you could manage at least four or four and a half hours in the week.The right time to receive sunlight is sunrise to 1.00 in the afternoon and 3.00 in the afternoon until half an hour before sunset.
              The light of the sun is the only source of vitamin D. As a matter of fact, the sunlight is the source and basis of all life.The sunlight is the one essential source of all food in the world. It is the sunlight that is the original source of energy. Many of the enzymes and biochemical products in the body too depend on the sun for their functions. 
            Whether certain processes in the body carry through smoothly or not, depends on whether we receive sufficient sunlight or not. That is exactly why receiving insufficient sunlight is one of the causes of obesity."


 We all know that Sunlight provides important vitamin D for the body. However now it has been proved scientifically also.
               In a study conducted at Yale University, it has been found that sunlight helps to fight against respiratory problems, cold,influenza Virus. From the study it has also been observed that people having Vitamin D level 38 nanogram per millimeter or more are 50 percent less susceptible to allergy.
The study for importance of Vitamin D in human body was conducted on 198 adults. Out of 198 people, 18 had high level of Vitamin and were found less susceptible to influenza virus related health problem.

Apart from Sunlight maintaining temperature and humidity, sunlight plays a significant role in nourishing and energizing the human body. 
                    It is also vital in order to get the full nutritional value from food that you consume and it has been proven that getting sufficient sunlight aids in preventing chronic ailments such as seasonal affective disorder (SAD), osteoporosis, mental depression, type 2 diabetes, and cancers affecting the bladder, colon, ovaries, prostrate, and the stomach.


To put it more succinctly, sunlight serves as the perfect medicinal pill in promoting a healthy lifestyle.  
  • One of the prime benefits of sunlight is that it supplies the body with Vitamin D, which not only promotes the absorption of calcium in the gut but also transfers calcium across the cell membranes.
Vitamin D also helps to lower the level of cholesterol in blood, and sunlight can even prevent the growth of cancerous tumors. Studies show that exposing your face to sunlight for 10 minutes every day can provide your body with the Vitamin D that is required for the day.

  •  A lack of Vitamin D is associated with a host of autoimmune ailments such as Crohn’s disease, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and thyroditis.
